I lived in the idyllic picturebook village of Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, for less than two years. I wish that I had made more photographs there during that period, but other events in my life had to take precedence. This picture, of the River Ash, not far from my house in Ash Meadow, captures perfectly for me the mystery of a river shrouded in mist in the early morning.
I now live in a house named Weeping Ash - so the relationship with fraxinus excelsior continues.
