The old Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry was a marvellous place - but now the industry has gone and so has the museum. I haven't visited the new Museum of Science and Discovery - or 'ThinkTank' as I believe it's called - but I bet the feeling of raw power, the lingering scent of sweat and machine oil, is not part of the new multimedia experience.
