This catalogue of all known examples of Raymond Moore's work has been compiled by Simon Stahli. I have assisted with editing and checking, but we both realise it is undoubtedly incomplete.
It is published here in its current form to provide a catalogue resource for the many people interested in work by this pivotal figure in British photographic history.
Thumbnail images only are shown at this stage and we realise that these are inadequate to convey the full impact of Moore's work. So much of the resonance of his images relies on experiencing the original prints and it is doubtful that any images on the web can even approach the quality of the originals.
A selection of thumbnails linking to larger images may be viewed here, the original page that this has replaced.
In many cases, even the thumbnails are of poor quality as they have been gleaned from the only available records, the originals being unavailable to researchers.
With all his books long out of print, no access to a national archive of his work and no exhibitions featuring it, anyone interested must seek out the few examples in public collections or hard-to-find books.
Suggestions for corrections or additions to this attempt at a catalogue raisonné are welcome and encouraged.
Comments should be e-mailed to the author (simonstahli -at- yahoo.co.uk) and scans of any new images would be gratefully received (no greater than 250dpi / 4.6cm width / 50-100k please).
Due to the unresolved legal situation concerning the archive it is currently impossible to obtain copyright clearance, even for the included thumbnail images. If any party involved objects to the publication of this list in this form the images will be removed.
Pictures are currently grouped by year of creation. I hope to also offer views based on collections or publications at some point.
Please contact me if you have any comments or suggestions.
